Why do dark florals take over once the nights draw level?
Because the light changes and the print has to change with it. A pale summer floral relies on daylight; under a street lamp or a restaurant candle it goes flat and grey. A dark floral does the opposite. The black or midnight ground disappears into the evening and the blooms sit forward, lit like a stage. Which dark floral prints work best after dark?
The ones with the most going on. Under low light, a sparse print reads as a plain shirt with a stain; a dense one reads as intent. Three to know this week.
