5Marketing & your choices
We want our communications to feel relevant, never intrusive.
If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in during checkout, we send email marketing through our email platform (Klaviyo). Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link.
How we understand marketing engagement
Where permitted, we may receive information about how you interact with our marketing communications — such as whether an email appears to have been opened or whether a link was selected. We use this to understand campaign performance and improve the relevance of what we send.
WhatsApp & messaging
We offer WhatsApp as a way for you to contact us. If you message us, we use your number and message to respond to your enquiry — WhatsApp processes messages under its own privacy notice.
Personalised advertising
Where you consent through our cookie banner, we work with advertising platforms — currently Google, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), AdRoll and the Rakuten Advertising affiliate network — to deliver and measure advertising for Claudio Lugli. You can withdraw this consent at any time via Manage Cookie Preferences.
Your right to object: you can ask us to stop using your personal information for direct marketing at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact enquiry@claudioluglishirts.com. We may keep a minimal suppression record so your preference is respected in future.
6Cookies & similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to provide essential functionality, remember choices, maintain security, understand website performance and — only where you consent — personalise experiences and support advertising. We use a consent management platform (Cookiebot) to ask for your consent before non-essential technologies are used.
Our Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy contains a live declaration of the specific cookies in use, their providers, purposes and durations.

Some providers act only on our instructions. Others — such as payment providers, review platforms and advertising platforms — may act as separate controllers under their own privacy notices. We may also disclose information to appropriate parties in connection with a proposed or completed sale, investment, reorganisation or transfer of all or part of our business or assets. We update this list as our providers change.
8International transfers
Some of the providers that support our business may access or process personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data protection law treats a transfer as restricted, we use an appropriate legal mechanism where required. Depending on the destination and circumstances, this may include UK adequacy regulations, approved contractual safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum) or another lawful mechanism recognised under UK data protection law.
You may contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your personal information.
9How long we keep information
We do not keep personal information indefinitely. Retention depends on: why the information was collected; whether an account or customer relationship remains active; legal, tax and accounting requirements; fraud-prevention needs; warranty or product issues; disputes or legal claims; and whether information is needed to respect a privacy preference (such as a marketing opt-out).
In particular: order and transaction records are kept for the periods required by UK tax and accounting law; account information is kept while your account is active; marketing records are kept until you opt out, after which we retain a minimal suppression record to respect your preference; and cookie durations are set out in our Cookie Policy.
We periodically review information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer required.
10How we protect information
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss, inappropriate disclosure, alteration and misuse. Our website runs on Shopify's secured infrastructure and all traffic is encrypted in transit.
No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore continually review our approach in light of the nature of the information, the risks involved and the technologies available to us.
11Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:
Ask whether we process your personal information and request a copy.
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Ask us to delete personal information in certain circumstances.
Ask us to restrict certain processing.
Receive certain information in a structured, machine-readable format.
Object to certain processing — including an absolute right to object to direct marketing.
Where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
Raise a concern with us, or with the Information Commissioner's Office (see section 16).
Some rights are subject to legal conditions or exemptions. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and if a request cannot be fulfilled in full we will explain our position where required. We aim to respond within one month.
To exercise a privacy right: enquiry@claudioluglishirts.com
12Automated decisions & profiling
We do not currently make decisions about you based solely on automated processing where those decisions produce legal or similarly significant effects, unless we tell you otherwise.
We may use information to understand interests, personalise communications or support fraud detection. Where this involves profiling, we apply the relevant legal requirements and provide choices where required — including your right to object to profiling connected with direct marketing.
13Children's privacy
Our website and online shopping services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, please contact enquiry@claudioluglishirts.com.
14Third-party websites & services
Our website contains links to websites, platforms and services operated by other organisations — including social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and X. Those organisations process personal information under their own privacy notices, and we encourage you to review them before providing personal information.
15Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes to our services, the technology we use, our processing activities or legal requirements. The latest version will always be published on this page with the relevant update date. Where appropriate, we may also bring significant changes to your attention in another way.
16Questions, requests & complaints
We would always welcome the opportunity to resolve a privacy question or concern directly — please contact our team first and we will review your concern carefully.
