A tattoo print takes the flat, bold, black-outlined style of traditional tattoo flash - the sheets of ready-made designs that hung on parlour walls from the 1900s onward - and scatters it across the shirt. Swallows, anchors, daggers, roses, ships in full sail, panthers, pin-ups, hearts with a banner. The palette is the old flash palette: red, black, a faded green and a sun-bleached blue. Is a tattoo print shirt too much for a man who has no tattoos?
No, and it is arguably better on him.
