the Revival
A weekend where the whole world dresses for another era. Here is exactly how to do it — with a little Italian romance, and a lot of Claudio Lugli colour.
See Claudio Lugli at the RevivalFor one golden weekend each September, Goodwood becomes a time machine. There are no modern cars in the car park, no logos on the grandstand, and no phones-out self-consciousness about dressing up — because everyone does. The Revival is Britain’s greatest costume party with a race licence, and getting the outfit right is half the joy. This is your complete guide to the Goodwood Revival 2026 dress code — and how to wear it with a Claudio Lugli twist.
Do you have to dress up?
Not officially — but you will feel out of place if you don’t. Period dress from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s is warmly encouraged everywhere, and in the central Paddock it is effectively expected: jacket and tie for gentlemen, a dress or suit for ladies. The good news? You do not need a museum-piece wardrobe. The Revival rewards sprezzatura — that very Italian art of looking immaculate without looking like you tried. Often it is a single bold shirt, worn with confidence, that makes the whole look.
Three decades, three moods
Wartime Sharp
Structure and spearpoint collars. Broad-shouldered tailoring, braces, high-waisted trousers, a tie or bow tie and a folded pocket square. Think Battle of Britain officer on his day off.
Riviera Ease
The decade La Dolce Vita was made for. Open-neck print shirts, linen, driving loafers, sunglasses and a cravat. Grand Prix glamour on the Amalfi coast.
Mod & Bold
Slim tailoring, paisley cravats, bolder colour and pattern. The Mods, the Vespas, the scene where a printed shirt finally became the whole statement.
We have brought our stand to Goodwood for fourteen years. Our approach to the Revival has never been fancy dress — it is period spirit, rendered in art-led print. A grid of racing cars. A sky of Red Arrows. A Monaco poster you can wear. Below, five worlds to build your look from — every one in stock and ready to ship.
Racing & Grand Prix
The beating heart of the Revival. Our Monaco Grand Prix, Vintage Grand Prix and Pit Lane F1 prints put the golden age of motorsport across your back — hand-drawn circuits, start-line flags and poster art in period colour. Wear open over a plain tee for the grid walk, or under a linen blazer for the Paddock.

The Revival roars overhead as well as around the track. Our Red Arrows and Supermarine Spitfire prints salute the aircraft that define the era — a wearable flypast in ivory, red and sky blue. Nothing says 1940s Goodwood quite like the aircraft it was built beside.

This is the theme of the weekend, and our natural home. Think Monaco harbour, Maserati red and a Vespa buzzing past a café. Our Monaco Montage, Vintage Italian Road Race and Italian Race Cars prints channel that easy glamour — open collar, sleeves rolled, sunglasses on. Finish with a matching print boxer for a flourish only you know about.

Goodwood Revival dress code FAQs
It is not compulsory, but the vast majority of visitors wear period 1940s–60s style, and jacket and tie is expected in the central Paddock. You will enjoy the day far more if you join in — even a single statement shirt goes a long way.
Tailored trousers, a shirt with period character, and a jacket — tweed, linen or a slim ’60s cut. Add a tie or cravat, braces, and classic shoes. A bold Claudio Lugli racing, aviation or Riviera print is an easy way to look the part without a full vintage wardrobe.
La Dolce Vita — a celebration of Italian romance, style and speed, marking Maserati’s racing centenary, with a Vespa-led track parade. Riviera and Monaco-inspired looks are perfectly on theme.
The 1940s, 1950s and 1960s — the golden age of the Goodwood Motor Circuit. Anything from wartime tailoring to Mod-era colour is welcome.
