The Men's Shirt Fit & Sizing Guide

The Fit & SizingGuide
How our shirts are cut, how to find your size, and the one rule that gets it right — nine sizes, S–6XL.
A bold print only works when the shirt underneath it fits. Claudio Lugli shirts are cut to a tailored regular fit — shaped through the body without being tight, true to size, and made to sit sharp whether you are a slim 38 or a broad 6XL. This is the reference for getting that fit right first time: how the cut works, how each fabric wears, and when to size up.
One rule carries across the whole range. The shirts run true to size, so order your usual size — but if you are between sizes, broad-shouldered, or simply prefer a relaxed drape, size up one. For exact chest and length measurements by size, use the size guide alongside this page, and read it with our Fabric Library, since the cloth changes how a shirt wears.
The Claudio Lugli Cut
Our signature cut is a tailored regular fit. It is shaped through the chest and waist for a clean line, but it is not a skin-tight slim fit — there is room to move, tuck or wear open. The idea is simple: sharp enough to look considered, relaxed enough to wear all day.
Because the shirt does the talking, the fit is designed to flatter without competing. Order your usual size and it will read true.
Shaped, not tight. True to size. Made to sit sharp whether tucked or worn open.
Finding Your Size
Sizing is led by the chest. The quickest route to the right size is to measure the chest of a shirt you already own and love, lay it flat, and match it to the size guide — that removes the guesswork entirely.
If you are buying by your usual size, order it as normal; the cut runs true. Prefer a little more ease through the body? That is where sizing up comes in — see the next section.
Measure a favourite shirt flat across the chest and match it to the chart. It is the surest way to size.
Between Sizes, or Broad-Shouldered?
This is the single most useful thing on the page. If you are between two sizes, broad through the shoulders or chest, or you simply like a more relaxed drape — go one size up. The tailored cut is shaped, so the extra size buys comfort across the back and chest without losing the line.
Sizing down for a very fitted look is possible if you are lean and want it close, but for most men the size-up rule is the reliable one.
Between sizes or broad-shouldered? Size up one. It is the fix nine times out of ten.
How Fabric Changes the Fit
The same size can wear differently depending on the cloth. Satin-weave Egyptian cotton and cotton poplin are structured — they hold the tailored line crisply. TENCEL drapes closer and softer with a touch of natural give, so it sits fluid against the body. Linen wears the most relaxed and breathable, ideal a little roomy for the heat.
If you like a precise, sharp line, lean to the structured cottons. If you want fluid comfort, TENCEL and linen deliver it. Full detail on every cloth is in the Fabric Library.
Structured cotton for a sharp line; TENCEL and linen for relaxed, fluid comfort.
Sleeve Length & Silhouette
Most of the collection is long sleeve — the default statement silhouette, cut to be tucked and dressed up or worn open and relaxed. Short sleeve styles share the same tailored body in a cooler, camp-collar-friendly cut for warm weather and holidays. If a shirt does not say short sleeve, it is long sleeve.
The body fit is consistent across both, so your size carries over — only the sleeve changes.
Same tailored body, two sleeve lengths. Long sleeve to dress up; short sleeve for the heat.
The Full Range — S to 6XL
Every signature print is cut in nine sizes, Small through 6XL — and that matters. A statement shirt should be available to the man who wants it, not just to a narrow middle of the range. The design, the print placement and the tailored line are held consistent from S to 6XL, so a 5XL looks as considered as a Medium.
Bigger build, or shopping big and tall? The same size-up rule applies, and the size guide carries the exact measurements to the top of the range.
Bold design, cut properly for every size to 6XL. Nobody sized out of the good prints.
Polos & Muscle Fit
One exception to know. The Signature polo shirts are cut to a muscle fit — closer and more contoured than the shirts — in a cotton-elastane blend with real stretch. They are designed to sit snug on the chest and arms.
If you prefer a relaxed polo, size up from the muscle-fit; if you want the contoured look they are built for, take your usual size. The knitted and modal polos wear softer and closer still.
Polos run muscle-fit with stretch. Want it relaxed? Size up. Want it contoured? True to size.
A shirt should fit the man, not the mannequin. We cut ours to flatter a real range of builds — because the best print in the world means nothing if the shirt sits wrong.Hoss Salimian — Founder, Claudio Lugli

Size up. The tailored cut is shaped through the body, so the next size up adds comfort across the chest and shoulders without losing the line. Only size down if you are lean and want a very fitted look.

A tailored regular fit. That means shaped through the chest and waist for a clean line, but with room to move — not a tight slim fit. It is designed to look sharp tucked in or worn open.
