La Dolce Vita: Dressing for the Italian Riviera at Goodwood Revival

Goodwood Revival · The 2026 Theme
La Dolce Vita
The romance, style and speed of Italy — for one weekend in West Sussex
Maserati’s racing centenary · A Vespa-led track parade · 18–20 September 2026

In 2026 the Revival goes Italian. Goodwood marks Maserati’s racing centenary with a gathering of the marque, and opens the track with a parade swarmed by Vespas. The whole weekend is set to La Dolce Vita — the sweet life, as filtered through Rome, Monaco and the Amalfi coast.

Which is very good news for anyone who owns a Claudio Lugli. This is our natural home.

The Only Rule

Master sprezzatura

Sprezzatura is the very Italian art of looking immaculate without appearing to have tried. It is the opposite of fancy dress. One bold shirt, an open collar, sleeves rolled once — not twice — and sunglasses that look like they have seen a few summers. Everything considered; nothing laboured.

The Harbour

Monaco Montage

The Riviera in a single shirt — harbour, hairpin and the glamour that came with them. Open collar, ecru chinos, driving loafers. The most on-theme thing you can wear this September.

The Road Race

Vintage Italian Road Race

Mille Miglia energy — open roads, village squares and cars with more character than downforce. A print for the man who would rather talk about the Targa Florio than lap times.

The Marque

Italian Race Cars

Red, of course. With Maserati’s centenary the story of the weekend, an Italian racing print is the closest thing to wearing the theme itself. Pair with a linen blazer for the Paddock.

Finish the Look

Three Italian details

1
Sunglasses, always. Tortoiseshell over black. The Riviera squints at nobody.
2
Loafers, no socks. Driving shoes if you have them. It is September, not August — but commit.
3
One rolled sleeve. Not two. Not pushed. Rolled, once, and forgotten about.
