Claudio's Cutting Room — Submission Terms

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. What the Cutting Room is

Claudio's Cutting Room is an open invitation to send Claudio Lugli ("we", "us") an original idea that may inspire a future shirt print. You provide the spark; we provide the interpretation. Submitting an idea does not make you a designer, employee or contractor of Claudio Lugli, and does not guarantee that your idea will be reviewed, shortlisted, selected or produced.

2. Who can take part

You must be at least 18 years old. The programme is open internationally; where a reward cannot lawfully or practically be delivered to your country, we may offer a reasonable alternative. No purchase is required.

3. Your promises about your submission

You confirm that your submission is your own original idea, or that you have permission to share everything in it. Do not include third-party copyrighted characters, logos, brand names, photographs or artwork, or anything unlawful, hateful or obscene. We may remove or decline any submission at our discretion.

4. Who owns what

At submission: you keep ownership of your submission. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, review, and internally evaluate it (including sharing it with our design team and advisers).

If selected: before development begins we will issue you a short, plain-English Originator Agreement setting out the rights you grant us, your credit, and your reward. Rights beyond review and evaluation transfer only under that agreement.

5. Similar ideas

We receive many submissions and may already be developing similar concepts ourselves. General themes and concepts are not protected by copyright, though your original written or visual expression may be. Where two materially similar ideas are submitted, we may recognise the earliest sufficiently detailed qualifying submission shown in our records. We retain reasonable judgement over whether submissions are materially similar.

6. Selection and rewards

Selection is a creative and commercial judgement made by the Claudio Lugli team — it is not a lottery or prize draw. If your idea is developed into a garment (Made by Claudio Lugli), you will receive the first finished shirt in your preferred available size, an Originator's Edition credit, and early access to the launch. Outstanding ideas we cannot produce may be recognised as a Cutting Room Favourite. Rewards have no cash alternative and are subject to availability and delivery limitations.

7. We may interpret, adapt or decline

We may modify, combine, reinterpret or decline any concept, and we may independently create designs that resemble submitted themes. A submission being declined or unanswered grants you no claim against us.

8. Your personal information

At submission we collect only your first name, email address, country and (optionally) a social handle. Postal address and shirt size are requested only if your idea is selected. Marketing consent is separate and optional. Public featuring of your name, country and idea happens only with your separate consent. You may request removal of your submission at any time by emailing us.

9. General

We may amend or suspend the programme at any time; sealed submissions keep their record number and timestamp. Complaints and removal requests: enquiry@claudioluglishirts.com. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
