For fourteen years, Goodwood has been more than an event on our calendar — it has been a design studio in the open air. Some of our most loved automotive prints were born here, trackside, sketched from the cars on the hill and the characters in the paddock. This is our field guide to dressing for Goodwood — both the roar of the Festival of Speed and the glorious time-warp of the Revival.
Fourteen years on the hill
We have brought the Claudio Lugli stand to Goodwood for fourteen years running, and it has quietly shaped the brand. The drivers, the machines, the racing liveries and the collectors who stop by to tell us the story behind their car — it all finds its way into the artwork. When you wear one of our automotive print shirts, you are wearing something drawn from this world, not a stock motif bought off a shelf.

Two events, two very different dress codes
Goodwood is really two occasions with two moods. The Festival of Speed (9–12 July) is modern, fast and sun-soaked — smart-casual with room for personality, which is exactly where a bold automotive print earns its place. The Revival (18–20 September) is something else entirely: a full step back in time, where the whole crowd dresses in period style from the 1920s to the 1960s. Knowing which you are dressing for is the whole game.
Dressing for the Festival of Speed
For the Festival, keep it relaxed but intentional. A printed short or long-sleeve shirt in premium satin cotton, tailored trousers or chinos, and clean footwear — let the shirt carry the day. This is the weekend for your most characterful pieces: race cars, Grand Prix stripes, motorbikes. Pair a loud print with plain trousers and you will look considered rather than costume.

Dressing for the Revival — the time warp
The Revival is the connoisseur's event: a bygone era brought back to life, and the dress code is taken seriously. Full period dress is the tradition — but you do not need a costume hire to belong. A vintage-inspired racing print in the right palette reads as a modern, wearable nod to the era, worn with high-waisted trousers, braces or a fine knit. In 2026 the Revival celebrates La Dolce Vita — Italian style, romance and glamour — which is where our Italian racing heritage prints come into their own.

For the full Continental feel, the Monaco Grand Prix and Vintage F1 Legend prints capture the romance of golden-age motorsport — colour and character without tipping into fancy dress.
The prints that started here
Ask us at the stand and we will tell you the story behind almost any design — because so many of them began at Goodwood. From Best of Britain with its unmistakable homegrown spirit to the full Automotive & Aviation collection, these are wearable pieces of motoring history, each one a limited edition.

Come and find us
We are at the Festival of Speed all weekend — come and say hello, try a shirt on, and hear the story behind the print. Find us on Stand 102 and Stand 6 at the Start Line, in the heart of the shopping village. Following along? Say hello on Instagram.
