The Men's Shirt Fit & Sizing Guide

The Fit & SizingGuide
How to compare a shirt’s cut and measurements, choose your preferred ease, and check the sizes available for the particular design.
A bold print only works when the shirt underneath it fits. Many Claudio Lugli shirts have a shaped silhouette, but the cut and measurements can vary by product. Choose the fit that lets you sit and move comfortably rather than relying on a universal size label. This is the reference for getting that fit right first time: how the cut works, how each fabric wears, and when to size up.
Use the measurements for the chosen product. Compare the garment’s chest, shoulder, sleeve and length measurements with a shirt you already like. If you fall between sizes, decide which measurements and amount of ease matter most or ask the team for help. For exact chest and length measurements by size, use the size guide alongside this page, and read it with our Fabric Library, since the cloth changes how a shirt wears.
The Claudio Lugli Cut
Some shirts have a tailored regular cut, but fit can vary between designs. Use the chosen product’s cut description and measurements, then check chest, shoulder and sleeve room when sitting and moving.
Because the shirt does the talking, the fit is designed to flatter without competing. Use your usual size as a starting point, then check the actual garment measurements.
Shaped, not tight. Compare measurements. Check both tucked and untucked proportions.
Finding Your Size
Check whether the chart lists body measurements or garment measurements before comparing it with a shirt laid flat. Use like-for-like measurements and compare chest, shoulder, sleeve and length together.
A usual size label is only a starting point because cuts and measurements vary. Prefer a little more ease through the body? That is where sizing up comes in — see the next section.
Compare a favourite shirt with garment measurements. If the chart lists body measurements, follow its measuring instructions instead.
Between Sizes, or Broad-Shouldered?
If you are between sizes, compare chest, back, shoulder and sleeve room together. A larger size may add comfort in one area and excess fabric in another, so the right choice depends on the garment and your preferred fit.
Try the shirt seated and reaching forward before choosing a closer fit. A different cut can be more useful than moving up or down a size.
Between sizes or broad-shouldered? Compare all the garment measurements and ask for product-specific guidance.
How Fabric Changes the Fit
Fabric weight, weave, finishing and cut all affect drape and feel. A cotton shirt can be crisp or soft; a lyocell or linen shirt can also vary in structure. Fibre names do not establish stretch or fit. Check the composition and construction of the actual garment.
Look for the structure or drape you prefer in the particular garment rather than deciding by fibre name alone. Use the Fabric Library alongside the product’s composition and care instructions.
Choose by the garment’s actual structure, drape and composition.
Sleeve Length & Silhouette
Most of the collection is long sleeve — the default statement silhouette, cut to be tucked and dressed up or worn open and relaxed. Short sleeve styles share the same tailored body in a cooler, camp-collar-friendly cut for warm weather and holidays. Read the chosen product’s sleeve description and measurements.
Different sleeve styles or collections can have different body cuts, so do not assume the same size fits identically.
Compare the cut and sleeve measurements for each garment. Long sleeve to dress up; short sleeve for the heat.
The Full Range — S to 6XL
The men’s collection includes designs in extended sizes, with some ranging from S to 6XL. The size selector shows availability for the exact design. Compare measurements and print placement on that product rather than assuming every print is sold in every size.
For bigger builds or a longer body, compare chest, sleeve and hem length together. An extended size does not automatically have a dedicated tall cut.
Bold design, cut properly for every size to 6XL. Nobody sized out of the good prints.
Polos & Muscle Fit
A polo may use a different cut and fabric from a woven shirt. Check whether the particular product is described as muscle fit, its composition, and its chest, shoulder and length measurements.
Compare both sizes if you want more room. Moving up a size may also change shoulder, sleeve and hem proportions; choose the fit and amount of ease you prefer for that particular polo.
Check the polo’s own cut, composition and measurements before choosing a size.
A shirt should fit the man, not the mannequin. We cut ours to flatter a real range of builds — because the best print in the world means nothing if the shirt sits wrong.Hoss Salimian — Founder, Claudio Lugli
Questions, answered
Use your usual size as a starting point, then compare the measurements for the particular shirt with a garment you own. Cuts vary; check chest, shoulder, sleeve and length, and ask the team if you are between sizes.
Compare the dimensions of both sizes. A larger size can add room and also change sleeve or shoulder proportions; choose the amount of ease you prefer rather than applying a universal rule.
Some men’s shirt designs range from S to 6XL, but the available sizes depend on the product and current stock. Use its size selector and measurements to choose.
The cut depends on the particular shirt. Check its fit description and measurements, then compare the room you want through the chest, shoulders and waist.
Yes. Weave, weight, finishing and construction can affect drape and feel. Fibre names alone do not establish stretch, structure or fit; use the actual garment’s composition and measurements.
Use the particular polo’s cut description, composition and measurements. A larger size can add room and change other proportions, so compare sizes rather than applying a universal size-up rule.

Choose a shirt using the measurements for that product, then check how it feels when you sit and move. Fabric names describe different things: cotton is a fibre, while satin and poplin describe how a cloth is woven. Care depends on the actual garment and its label. These guides connect the fit decision to everyday washing, ironing and packing.
